Meghan Trainor releases new feisty single ‘No’.

‘No, no, just no, ok? No…

‘All about that bass’ singer ‘Meghan Trainer’ is back in business ready to smash the charts yet again with her sassy new single ‘no’. With this single set to be the lead track off her new forth coming album ‘Thank you’.

After reaching number one with her debut album ‘Title’ and achieve four top twenty hits with ‘Dear future husband, all about that bass, lips are moving and like I’m gonna lose you, Trainor is well known for her controversial singles and diva like attitude. However new single ‘No’ is a track that stands out from the rest.

‘No’ is a song with an important message to women all over the world. The hit is about female empowerment, something that the music industry is most certainly lacking these days. Feminism is a constant battle but Trainor clearly wants to step things up.
With lyrics like ‘Tell me I’m not like other girls’ Trainor is taking the common cliché of the typical ‘lad’ on a night out, mocking it and freaking owning it as a dominant female of the 21st century – ‘Now I’m thinking maybe you should go’.

However, the song does have the tendency to be slightly repetitive with the word ‘no’ being repeated over fifty times. It does perhaps make one think that the girl ran out of things to say. Although with this in mind other songs with a similar style such as: Justin Bieber’s ‘baby’ and Beyonce’s ‘halo’, show that in this modern day industry, repetition and lack of authenticity doesn’t necessarily affect a songs chance of success or popularity.

To conclude if you’re a superfan then dayum Miss Trainor has outdone herself. But even if you’re just looking for a song to cruise to in the car or to jam to at the weekend with your girlfriends then this is what you’ve been waiting for. Released just in time for international women’s day, plug your speakers in, turn the volume loud and own ittttt.

Here is the song for you to check out! Unforuntately there's no video yet but I'm sure it's worth waiting for!

My top fav Arctic Monkeys songs.

Everyone human loves Arctic Monkeys... They are just one of those bands who just 'fit all'. It's hard for me to try and limit myself to a top five but here goes...

1)

Fluorescent Adolescent - I'm pretty sure this song is loved by almost everybody. We all know how great being young is and having fun but yeah this song reminds us it isn't always going to be like that.
The beat and tune of the song is very upbeat and I love Alex's choice of words and metaphors such as 'Was it a mecca dober or a betting pencil'.
A pretty flawless song really...

2)

Mardy Bum - This is one of my personal favourites, it perhaps isn't one of the bands most popular songs but it's still a gooden!

I don't actually even know why it's one of my favourites...maybe because I'm always mardy?

Who knows...

3)

The View From The Afternoon - This is definitely one of the bands more 'rockier' tunes.
Somehow it always gets me in the right mood, especially when I'm going out...
I really like the guitar playing in the song...
I just think that the song is really relevant and applicable to us all...

Bascially we've all done the whole 'getting drunk and sending lots of text messages thing'...

4)

Why do you only call me when you're high? -

Duh this was obvs going to be on the list. Like how hot does Alex look in the video?
Not only that but it's another relatable video! He portays extremely well what you feel like when you are totally wasted and again with the whole drunk texting/calling thing - Just spot on (Y)

5)

Brianstorm - It was really really hard for me to pick my fifth song but yeah I went for this one...

To be honest I think I just like the simplicity of the song... it's very simple.

Brian is a douche, who pulls loads of women.

That's it.

I'm aware these five songs have been a very random combination and maybe on another day it might have been different. But what won't ever change is my love for Arctic Monkeys! Peace out.

Glastonbury tickets sold out in thirty minutes but who's headlining?

Glastonbury is one of the worlds most popular music festivals but what makes this Somerset event so highly rated?

Over the years headliners have ranged from 'The Who' to 'The Killers and 'U2' to 'Arctic Monkeys'. Always having great headliners has significantly increased the reputation of the five day festival. So really it's no surprised that the event sold out in thirty minutes this year without a clue of the artists and bands set to perform.

Although nothing has been confirmed the bookies favourite to headline for 2016 is Coldplay. The band have a new album due to be released this month (October) titled a headful of dreams. This will be the bands seventh album and possibly their concluding release as it's rumoured Chris Martin has said the group are in their latter days. If this is the case, what better way to end things than with a bang at Glastonbury?

After Dave Grohl broke his leg in Sweden and had to pull out of Glastonbury 2015, Foo Fighters are another favourite to headline the festival. Festival managers have said they would love to have the band back. So lets just hope Dave doesn't go getting anymore injury's in the mean time!

A third and final rumour to perform at Glastonbury is Adele. Although the singer/ songwriter hasn't released anything since 2011 the artist supposedly has a new album coming out this November. If this album is as good as her previous albums '19' & '21' then boy, G fest has to have her there!

Over the next few months Glastonbury should be confirming their performers, until then we will all have to sit tight and wait!

Here's some Coldplay in the mean time :)

New York Singer/ Songwriter Lana Del Rey releases video for new single 'Music to Watch Boys to'.

This new video can be classed as 'typically Del Rey'. Throughout most of the video we see Lana lounging around in black and white with flowery headphones, portraying naïve female attributes of innocence and adoration of what we presume to be silhouettes of men playing basketball.

Del Reys fascination for men can relate with all females but particularly in this video. The use of flamingos shows the vulnerability and delicacy of girls, in contrast to other videos such as 'Born To Die' where tigers are used to show the power and dominant side of a woman.

Former track 'This is what makes us girls' carrys a similar theme of the how easily friendship between girls can be destroyed simply by the natural desire for the opposite sex.  The distraction of watching the boys seems to make the girls more and more powerless. We see them possibly drowning in a swimming pool and I think this is Del Rey interpreting visually the loss of control and weakness that can come from the compelling yearning for boys and perhaps a warning to look out for each other as she's had her fair share of bad boys.

This is just a few words from me on my favourite artist. I'm not a journalist so feel free to critique. I'm learning...
Please check out Lana's new video and the new album!! xx
