New York Singer/ Songwriter Lana Del Rey releases video for new single 'Music to Watch Boys to'.

This new video can be classed as 'typically Del Rey'. Throughout most of the video we see Lana lounging around in black and white with flowery headphones, portraying naïve female attributes of innocence and adoration of what we presume to be silhouettes of men playing basketball.

Del Reys fascination for men can relate with all females but particularly in this video. The use of flamingos shows the vulnerability and delicacy of girls, in contrast to other videos such as 'Born To Die' where tigers are used to show the power and dominant side of a woman.

Former track 'This is what makes us girls' carrys a similar theme of the how easily friendship between girls can be destroyed simply by the natural desire for the opposite sex.  The distraction of watching the boys seems to make the girls more and more powerless. We see them possibly drowning in a swimming pool and I think this is Del Rey interpreting visually the loss of control and weakness that can come from the compelling yearning for boys and perhaps a warning to look out for each other as she's had her fair share of bad boys.

This is just a few words from me on my favourite artist. I'm not a journalist so feel free to critique. I'm learning...
Please check out Lana's new video and the new album!! xx
